Beefeater Restaurants has undergone a revamp in recent years, undergoing a complete change from the traditional image of Beefeater and the new look is warm, modern and stylish. Once inside, sit back, relax and enjoy your meal in one of the new leather booth-style seating areas and enjoy food from the specialist char grill at the heart of the Grill Restaurant Menu.
This pub is situated a little outside the town centre and next to the train station which makes it fairly quiet, until lunch time! It's right next to offices and is generally pretty full of people having a pint and a bite at lunch. The food is fairly standard in the pub bar area, there is a beef-eater style restaurant upstairs which is not too bad.The range of bar food is good and they do offers for lunches which is good if you're dining with a friend. The main restaurant menu is quite varied and the food is nicely cooked with reasonable portions for the price.Inside the pub is not too bad, it's reasonably modern but still comfortable and quite cosy. The main downside is the length of time it takes to get served, as the place is so busy at lunch time there can be around a 45 minute wait for food – not good if you only have an hour for lunch!

This place never seems to have enough people behind the bar, especially at lunchtimes. Getting a drink can take 10 or so mins, and as for the food, well, an hour is often not suifficient. I don't know how they justify their pricing either, as the portions are often small.
