About Us

Brief description

JK Studios is a small computer graphics and visual effects house based in Surrey, run by James Kearsley. Over 9 years i’ve developed my work by taking a hands-on approach at every level – from concept, design, production and post production. To date i’ve worked on music videos, VFX for TV programmes, video games, commercials and short films. Some of the projects i’ve worked on have appeared on bbc 1/2, mtv, virgin and on xbox, ps3 & PC. Previous end clients include BBC, Virgin, Partizan and Codemasters.

The company is owned by James Kearsley who has been involved in design and animation for 11 years. In 2008 he was nominated for an Escape Award for visual effects at the Tate Modern, in London and has a large portfolio bordering many creative skillsets.

Title sequences, 3D modelling and animation, CGI and photorealism, rigging, concept design and character creation, lighting, rendering and compositing. Accompanying this are a host of skills such as freehand and digital drawing, web design and 2D animation.
