• The Thread Emporium Excellent store!

  I remember this store under it old owner who, although stocking a good selection of fabrics, could possibly been a little more helpful. The Thread Emporium was taken over (last year I believe) by the old sewing mistress from a local school, and she is lovely! She and her staff are helpful and informative. The store still stocks a good range of fabrics, ranging from plain cottons to wacky furry material, but also offers a lot more on the fabric craft side, along with other customizing paraphernalia, as well as sewing equipment, thread, wool, ribbon etc It is also good for patterns, I recently bought a Vogue pattern from there and its turned out lovely. The owner even gave me a deal with that. The vogue patterns were due to enter a season sale the next week, but she sold me the pattern at the next weeks sale price saying she would enter it in then, at a loss to herself. Would highly recommend it, whether you’re looking for something for the kids to do or planning to embark on some serious sewing project yourself.
