• 50 pence per onion ring!

  Not a portion of onion rings, but 50 pence for one single ring! If you love overpriced overcooked food, this is the place for you. I have had the same experience in every Giraffe branch I have been to including Guildford, Heathrow, Stansted and Kensington: OK service, lively ambience and awful food!

• Sunday lunch at Giraffe

  We went in a group of 4 adults and 4 children to Giraffe for Sunday lunch. Unfortunately you can't book ahead but we managed to get a table fairly quickly. There was a great range of food and drinks and we enjoyed it. The only downside was that the adults food came first and the children had to wait. Great place though for all ages. Kids loved the plastic giraffes they give out to use in the drinks!

• Nice little restaurant

  Giraffe is a fairly new addition to the Guildford high street, and a welcome one. Usually busy, but rarely packed out, its mixture of small tables, booths and window seats allow for a casual lunch or informal dinner. There is often some good voucher deals around, offering a free cocktail, or even two for one on main meals, if you look carefully. The food is very varied – it offers meat and vegetarian burgers, healthy salads, Thai curry, pasta – pretty much a jumble of cuisine. The breakfast menu sounds particularly nice and the cocktails are yummy, if expensive. Generally tasty food and nice atmosphere. Very child friendly. But not one for a refined or quiet evening meal.

• A fantastic evening out

  Giraffe is a lovely vibrant restaurant with good prices and a wide range of meals and a good drinks menu. Our party made the most of their 2 for 1 cocktail offer, which is available in the early evenings.The service was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful: despite being a large booking and turning up slightly late, our table was well positioned in the restaurant and all our orders were taken quickly and arrived within half an hour.All in all, a great night out and one which would suit any birthday celebration or simply a fun meal with friends.
